The Monuments division monitors compliance with the Dutch Monuments and Historic Buildings Act of 1988 regarding listed buildings and structures. The Monuments division oversees spatial policy relating to protected monuments and areas. It also supervises private parties involved (owners, foundations and interest groups), specifically in the area of management and use of the monuments.
